Terms & Conditions

The rules of engagement for every VaporWave Vehicle Services booking.

1. About this document

These terms apply to every booking made with VaporWave Vehicle Services (VVS), trading from Cornwall and operating across Cornwall postcodes. By completing a booking through our website, you confirm that you have read and accepted everything below.

If you booked before reading these and something here is news to you, get in touch through the website before your appointment so we can resolve it.

2. About our service

VaporWave Vehicle Services is a premium mobile valeting and detailing service operating across Cornwall. Every booking is delivered to a defined process built on the AW UBV "Checklist" detailing standard. We ask in return that clients respect our policies, our work and our team. In return, we'll always deliver exactly what's been agreed.

3. Where we work

VVS is a fully mobile service. We work at your home, workplace or marina: anywhere your vehicle or vessel is parked safely and we have space to operate. Thanks to our self-contained setup (silent inverter power and on-board water), we don't require mains electricity for most work. Where mains electricity is required, a £25 surcharge applies and will be confirmed at booking.

For safety and insurance reasons, we will not work on any vehicle parked:

  • On a main road, busy road or narrow road where we can't safely operate
  • In a pay-and-display or short-stay car park
  • In a location that exposes our team or your vehicle to traffic risk

Level ground, reasonable space around the vehicle and shade where possible all help us deliver our best results. If you're unsure whether your address or chosen location is suitable, mention it through the booking form before paying your deposit. We'll always work with you to find a sensible alternative.

4. Service area and surcharges

VVS operates across Cornwall on a tiered zone structure. A travel surcharge may apply to bookings outside our core area, and a coastal surcharge may apply to vehicles kept in close proximity to the coast where salt contamination affects working time and product use. Where applicable, all surcharges are confirmed at the point of booking.

5. Bookings, deposits and confirmation

All bookings are secured by a deposit. Your booking is not confirmed until that deposit has cleared. Deposits are paid via the VaporWave Vehicle Services booking portal and are non-refundable and non-transferable. Deposit amounts vary by package, location and scope of work, and are confirmed at booking.

6. Website-only contact

All contact and bookings are handled exclusively through our website. We do not take bookings, enquiries or rescheduling requests by phone, WhatsApp or social media. This keeps our records clean and ensures nothing falls through the gaps.

7. Changing or transferring a booking

Within 48 hours of booking, we'll happily transfer your booking to another named person, provided the new address or location meets all other terms in this document.

8. Cancellations from our side

We can't control traffic, weather or other circumstances outside our reasonable control. If we ever need to cancel or move your booking, we'll offer a new date within 14 days of the original. If we cannot honour the booking within that window, your deposit will be refunded in full.

9. Heavily soiled interiors

If your interior is heavily affected by mud, pet hair, mould, vomit, blood or similar contamination, an additional charge will apply to cover the extra time, materials and handling involved. Please send a few clear photographs through our website ahead of booking and we'll provide a fair estimate. If photos aren't supplied in advance, the additional charge will be agreed with you on the day before any work begins.

10. What detailing can and can't do

PAINT CORRECTION is restorative, not regenerative. We work to bring your vehicle to the best realistic standard its paint, trim and materials will allow on the day: but there are limits to what any process can achieve, and being upfront about those limits is part of how we work.

No service we offer can guarantee:

  • Removal of deep scratches, stone chips, dents or damage that has reached the primer or base coat
  • Restoration of paint that has structurally failed (lacquer peel, oxidation past the clear coat, etc.)
  • Permanent prevention of future swirls, water spots or contamination: protection extends life, it doesn't make paint invincible
  • Identical results across panels with different paint histories (resprays, blends and original factory paint behave differently under correction)
  • Removal of permanent staining: particularly coffee, dye transfer, ink, hair dye or set-in biological stains
  • Reversal of damage to materials: burns, tears, cracked or worn leather, sun-faded plastics or pet-chewed trim
  • Removal of deeply set odours from smoke, damp, fuel or biological sources in a single visit
  • Complete removal of sand and grit that has worked its way deep into seat foam, seatbelt mechanisms, runner channels, carpet underlay and the gaps around centre consoles and trim

11. A note on coastal use

Cornwall vehicles see more sand, salt and damp than most. We deal with this every day and our process is built around it: but it's worth being realistic about what's achievable in a single visit.

Sand migrates into places that simply can't be reached without dismantling trim: deep into seat foam, down seatbelt reels, into seat runner mechanisms and through the perforations and seams around the centre console.

Carpets are the most demanding area. Years of beach trips, wet feet, surfboards and dogs leave grit embedded not just in the visible carpet pile but in the underlay beneath: a dense foam layer that traps debris and moisture. A professional hot-water extraction will pull a substantial amount of this back up, and the visible and tactile improvement is significant, but no extraction process recovers everything that's worked its way through over years of use. Some grit will continue to surface for weeks afterwards as the vehicle is driven and the carpets are walked on. This isn't a shortcoming in the work: it's the physical reality of how grit behaves in carpet underlay.

The first valet on a heavily neglected coastal vehicle is always the hardest, and the gap between "before" and "after" is often dramatic. Subsequent maintenance visits compound the result significantly, because each clean removes more of what's been disturbed and brought to the surface since the last visit. This is the single strongest argument for our Maintenance Club.

12. Pre-work walkaround

For all paint correction, machine polishing and ceramic coating bookings, we carry out a paint inspection on arrival and walk you through what's realistically achievable on your specific vehicle before any correction work begins. If expectations and reality don't line up, we'd rather have that conversation at the start than at the handover. You're welcome to be present for this; if you prefer to leave the keys with us, we'll send photos and notes before any correction work starts.

13. Package-specific terms

The following terms apply to specific packages in addition to everything above. Where a package isn't listed, only the general terms apply.

13.1 The Reset

A deep clean and protect service, not a paint correction service. The Reset will not remove swirls or scratches. Includes ozone treatment: vehicle must remain unused for up to 30 minutes after treatment. 6–12 months of Performance PPL hydrophobic protection applied. Coastal vehicles: sand embedded in carpet underlay, seat foam and seatbelt mechanisms cannot be fully removed in a single visit.

13.2 The Reset+

Includes everything in The Reset plus a single-stage enhancement machine polish. Removes the majority of light swirls and wash marring; deeper scratches and below-clear-coat damage are not addressed. Paint inspection on arrival: if your paint cannot safely take a polish, we stop and consult before continuing. A full-day booking, typically 8–9 hours on site.

13.3 The Reset – Exterior

Exterior only. No interior work is included. A wash-and-protect service, not a correction service: will not remove swirls or scratches. 6–12 months of Performance PPL protection applied to paint, wheels and glass.

13.4 The Reset – Interior

Allow 4–12 hours drying time after we leave. Some stains and damage are permanent and will not be removed: coffee, dye transfer, ink, burns, tears, cracked or worn leather. Coastal vehicles: sand worked deep into carpet underlay and seat foam will continue to surface for weeks afterwards. Optional fabric and leather coatings must cure for at least 12 hours before normal use resumes.

13.5 Mobile Ceramic Protection Package

A gloss enhancement service, not a paint correction service. The goal is to chase gloss, depth, and clarity — bringing paintwork back to a slick, wet-look finish with maximum reflection and shine. Light defects (minor swirls, wash marring, fine marks) are typically softened or removed as a natural by-product of the polishing process, but defect removal is not the objective and is not what this booking is priced for. If your paint shows visible scratches, RIDS, etching, or deeper defects you specifically want removed, see The Correction Stage 1 or Stage 2 — those packages are built for that work and use a different process.

Paint inspection on arrival — if your paint cannot safely take a polish, we stop and consult before continuing. 6 months of ceramic-hybrid protection applied as standard. No washing for 7 days after polish and seal application. Avoid automatic car washes for the life of the protection. Optional CQUARTZ UK 3.0 ceramic coating upgrade available — if selected, ceramic coating aftercare terms apply.

13.6 The Maintenance Club

Members only. Eligibility is non-negotiable: you must have had The Reset, Reset+, Enhancement, a Correction package or New Car Futureproof with us first. Booked on a 4-week cycle, with a 6-week maximum gap between visits. Beyond 6 weeks, the vehicle requires a Reset before rejoining. The vehicle must be presented within maintenance scope: normal road film and day-to-day use is fine; neglect is not. If your vehicle returns beyond maintenance scope, we'll switch the booking to The Reset (or quote the correct service); maintenance pricing won't apply until the vehicle is back to standard. The Maintenance Club is a maintenance wash, not a deep clean: no machine polishing, no deep extraction, no heavy decontamination.

13.7 The Correction Stage 1

Targeted at 60–70% defect reduction. Deep scratches, RIDS, etching and damage below the clear coat will remain. Paint thickness measured on arrival; if readings show your paint cannot safely take correction, we stop and consult: adjusting scope, switching package or refunding the difference fairly. Optional interior deep clean available at a reduced £100 rate when added to a Correction booking.

13.8 The Correction Stage 2

Targeted at up to 95% defect reduction. More aggressive than Stage 1 and removes more clear coat: not suitable for every vehicle. Paint thickness measured on arrival; if readings show your paint cannot safely take Stage 2, we may recommend stepping down to Stage 1, with the difference refunded or credited. Stage 2 cannot be safely repeated multiple times across a vehicle's life: each correction permanently removes clear coat.

13.9 New Car Futureproof

The vehicle must be under 1,000 miles on the odometer at the time of booking. Above this threshold, we'll quote a custom prep-and-coat service or recommend Correction Stage 1 with a coating upgrade. CARPRO CQUARTZ UK 3.0 ceramic coating included as standard, with upgrade options available. A full-day booking, typically 12 hours.

13.10 Ceramic coating aftercare (applies to all packages where a ceramic coating is applied)

  • No washing for 7 days after application
  • Avoid automatic car washes for the life of the coating: they will reintroduce wash marring and degrade the coating chemically
  • Wash using pH-neutral shampoo and a 2-bucket method, or book Maintenance Club for ongoing safe wash care
  • Avoid abrasive polishes, harsh chemical cleaners and any aggressive wash technique

Coating durability claims assume proper aftercare. Neglect, automatic car washes and harsh chemicals will significantly reduce the lifespan of any coating, regardless of which product is applied.

14. Acceptance, missed bookings and unpaid invoices

When you complete a booking through our website, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms. Bookings subsequently affected by a breach of these terms may result in the full booking value becoming payable. An invoice will be issued to the email address provided at booking, and unpaid invoices will be pursued through the appropriate legal channels. A missed booking is a slot we could have filled: we don't carry the cost of a no-show.

15. Liability

VaporWave Vehicle Services maintains appropriate insurance for the work we carry out. Our liability is limited to the cost of putting right any damage we are demonstrably responsible for. We are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing damage, defects or wear not caused by our work
  • Damage that arises from undisclosed prior repair work, paint defects or material failure
  • Indirect or consequential losses (loss of use, missed appointments, etc.)

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited under UK law.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page indicates the current version. The terms in force at the time of your booking are the ones that apply to that booking.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

18. Contact

For any questions about these terms, or to discuss a specific booking, contact us through the website at vaporwavevehicleservices.co.uk. We do not take enquiries by phone, WhatsApp or social media.
